Hillard Pitches Pittsfield into State Quarter-Finals

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Cam Hillard allowed one hit in a complete-game, five-inning effort Tuesday as the Pittsfield baseball team downed Abington, 10-0, to advance to the Division 4 State Tournament Quarter-Finals.
 
Hillard struck out four and walked just one in the shutout victory.
 
Pittsfield’s offense gave him runs in each of its innings.
 
Nick Brindle led the Generals, going 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs.
 
Ben Jacob and Connor Devine also had two hits apiece.
 
No. 6 Pittsfield (18-5) awaits to find out its opponent in the Elite Eight. No. 3 Clinton hosts No. 14 Joseph Case on Wednesday.
