WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Derek Paris struck out 10 on the hill and went 3-for-3 at the plate Saturday to lead the Mount Greylock baseball team to a five-inning, 15-1 win over Wahconah.

Paris scattered six hits, walked one and did not allow a run until the top of the fifth, when the Mounties already had a 15-run lead.

Anthony Welch went 2-for-3 and scored three times, and Dylen Harrison doubled and drove in three runs in a nine-hit Mount Greylock attack.

“Well, it’s been a long week of baseball for us with five games in six days and the first three on the road, so it was nice to finish at home and win against an interleague foe in Wahconah,” Mount Greylock coach Rick Paris said.

“Derek pitched well tonight pounding the zone and locating his pitches. He was gassing it up early on. The good thing is we have the luxury of having three guys on our team who could be No. 1s on other teams in our division. [Sunday] we will take a needed day off before hosting Lenox on Monday.”

Mount Greylock improved to 9-2 with its fourth straight win.

Patrick McLaughlin went 2-for-3 and drove in a run for Wahconah (3-5), which hosts Monument Mountain on Tuesday.
