Doyle Leads Mount Greylock Baseball Past Pittsfield

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Chase Doyle went 2-for-3 with a triple and drove in four runs, and the Mount Greylock baseball team Friday held off a late Pittsfield rally to earn an 8-7 win.
 
Oscar Low also tripled in a 2-for-4 day at the plate.
 
Derek Paris earned the win on the mound, striking out seven and allowing six earned runs in 6-⅓ innings of work. Landen Jamula came on to pick up the save.
 
Paris got into trouble in the sixth, when Pittsfield got a one-out double from Eddie Mullin to ignite a five-run rally.
 
Michael Grady had a two-run single, and Owen Kroboth had a two-run double in the rally, which ended on a called third strike with the tying run at third base.
 
Kroboth went 2-for-4, and Mullin was 2-for-3 for the Generals. Mullin and Collin Merwin split time on the mound.
 
Pittsfield (2-2) hosts Drury on Monday. Mount Greylock (2-1) hosts Taconic on Monday.
