Pittsfield Baseball Stays Perfect with Win over Mount Greylock

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Three Pittsfield pitchers combined on a three-hitter Monday as the Generals defeated Mount Greylock, 11-0.
 
Carter Matthews started and went four innings, striking out six and scattering three hits before turning the ball over to Hunter Potash, who did not allow a hit in two innings of work. Ryan LaPierre pitched a perfect seventh, striking out two, to finish things up.
 
LaPierre also led a nine-hit Pittsfield attack by going 3-for-4 with a double and three runs scored. Joe Traversa drove in a pair of runs, and Benoit and Christian Marchbanks each doubled.
 
Oscar Low, Billy Galvin and Dan Buell each had a hit for Mount Greylock (4-3), which goes to Bennington, Vt., to face Mount Anthony Union on Wednesday.
 
The Generals (8-0) host Wahconah on Wednesday.
