SOUTHWICK, Mass. – Cam Miller hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh to drive in the winning run as the Mount Greylock baseball team Tuesday posted a 7-6, come-from-behind win over Southwick.

“Great come from behind win,” Mount Greylock coach Rick Paris said. “The guys really stepped up and found a way to win against a solid Southwick team. [Jameson Bayliss] gave us five solid innings out there on the bump and passed the baton to sophomore Emery Rotter, who threw two no-hit scoreless innings.”

Mason Canata went 2-for-4 with a double, and Rotter and Everett Bayliss had two hits apiece in an eight-hit attack for the Mounties.

The host Rams used five unearned runs to build a 6-2 lead going to the sixth inning.

Canata’s leadoff double started a two-run rally in the top of the sixth.

He went to third on a groundout, and Jake Newberry reached on an error that put runners at the corners. With two out and two on, Miller worked a walk to load the bases, and Rotter singled to left to drive in Canata and Newberry to make it 6-4.

In the seventh, Patrick Holland and Everett Bayliss started the inning with back-to-back singles.

With one out, Jameson Bayliss reached on a two-base error that allowed two runs to score and tie the game. He went to third on another error to set the stage for Miller’s game-winning RBI.

Jameson Bayliss struck out nine and allowed four walks and three hits in five innings of work. Rotter struck out a pair without allowing a runner to close out the win.

Mount Greylock (2-1) goes to Amherst on Wednesday.
