WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Mason Canata threw 4 and two-thirds innings of scoreless relief, and the Mount Greylock baseball team Saturday came from behind to earn a 6-2 win over Atlantis Charter in the preliminary round of the Division 5 State Tournament.

The visitors scored two unearned runs off starter Tommy Art in the top of the first inning.

Canata came on to close that inning and pitched into the sixth, striking out five and scattering four hits before giving the ball to Jameson Bayliss to finish up.

Bayliss came into a 4-2 game and struck out two and walked one while allowing two hits in 1 and two-thirds innings to earn a save.

The Mounties came back and took the lead in the bottom of the third inning. Then they tacked on a run in the fifth and scored two in the bottom of the sixth to give Bayliss some breathing room in the seventh.

Art went 2-for-3 and scored a pair of runs. Bayliss doubled with two RBIs, and Canata, Cam Miller and Everett Bayliss each had a hit for the Mounties.

Twenty-sixth-seeded Mount Greylock (8-13) moves on to face No. 7 Tahanto (14-4) in the Round of 32.
