Melle Throws Complete Game as Wahconah Edges Lenox
LENOX, Mass. – Wahconah’s Braedyn Melle Sunday struck out eight and allowed just two hits in a 2-1, complete-game victory at Lenox.
Melle allowed just four men on base and did not give up an earned run in the win.
His offense gave him all the support he needed in the top of the first inning.
Beau Walton hit a one-out single, and James Rabuse reached an error to set up first and third.
With two out, Ryan Marauszwski doubled to center field to drive in both runners and give Wahconah a 2-0 lead.
Lenox got a run back in the third when Mason Abdalla reached on a two-out error, moved up on another error and scored on Zack Nicotra’s single to center.
Max Shepardson was the hard-luck loser for Lenox, going the distance on the mound and striking out seven, walking none and scattering five hits.
Lenox (2-1) is at Drury on Monday.
Wahconah (4-2) hosts Granby on Monday.
