Kogut, Sniezek Pitch Hoosac Valley to 1-0 Win

CHESHIRE, Mass. — Henry Sniezek scored on a wild pitch in the third inning, and Devin Kogut and Sniezek combined on a five-hitter as the Hoosac Valley baseball team defeated Lenox, 1-0, on Monday.

 

Sniezek reached base with a leadoff single and moved up on Luc Trombley's sacrifice bunt and a  Zack Swistak single.

 

Kogut went 4-1/3 innings on the mound, scattering five hits and striking out three. Sniezek finished up, striking out seven and walking two in 2-2/3 innings of work.

 

Shane Steinman went the distance on the mound for Lenox, striking out 11. He also went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk to help his own cause.

 

Lenox (3-4) hosts Lee on Wednesday.

 

Hoosac Valley (5-4) hosts Mount Greylock on Wednesday.
