Lee Leads Thunder on Road in Opener

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – Matt Lee struck out 14 in five innings of work, and Nick Guachione and Evan Blake each homered as the Taconic baseball team opened with a 12-0, five-inning win over Northampton on Monday.

 

Lee allowed just one hit, and the Thunder made the most of its six hits.

 

Taconic cashed in on five errors by the Blue Devils.

 

It also got back to back homers in the top of the first – a three-run blast from Blake and a solo shot from Guachione to jump out to a 4-0 lead.

 

Blake finished with four RBIs. Antonio Scalise went 1-for-3 with three RBIs. Christian Salzarulo walked three times, stole four bases and scored three runs.

 

Taconic (1-0) goes to Chicopee Comprehensive on Wednesday.
