Sherman Leads Taconic at Plate, on Mound

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Sam Sherman went 3-for-3 with a home run, a triple and a double Thursday to lead the Taconic baseball team to a 15-1 win over Easthampton in the Western Massachusetts Class B semi-finals.

 

Sherman also struck out seven in a complete-game, five-inning performance on the hill as Taconic (18-1) set up a rematch against Pittsfield on Memorial Day at Wahconah Park for the regional championship.

 

The Generals knocked off Monument Mountain on Thursday in the other half of the bracket.

 

Nick Guachione and Evan Blake each went 2-for-3 with a home run  for the Thunder. Guachione drove in four runs in a 12-hit Taconic attack.

 

Antonio Scalise went doubled, walked twice and scored a pair of runs.
