Lee Pitches Taconic Past Hampshire in Five Innings

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Matt Lee struck out 13 in a five-inning no-hitter Monday as the Taconic baseball team beat Hampshire Regional, 15-0, in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class B regional tournament.

 

The Thunder led, 2-0, after three innings, but exploded for 13 runs in the bottom of the fourth to put the game out of reach.

 

Stevie Zuccalo led the offense, going 3-for-3 with three RBIs. Evan Blake went 2-for-2 with a double, and Lee helped his cause by going 2-for-4 with a double.

 

Top-seeded Taconic (17-1) in the semi-finals meets Easthampton, a 6-0 winner over Southwick on Monday night.
