Sherman Pitches Taconic Past West Springfield

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Sam Sherman struck out 10 in six innings on the mound Thursday to lead the Taconic baseball team to a 10-1 win over West Springfield.

 

Sherman allowed just one hit, no walks and one unearned run before giving the ball to Adam Lazits, who worked a scoreless seventh.

 

Sherman helped his cause with a 2-for-4 day at the plate that included a double.

 

Evan Blake (2-for-5) and Kaden Codey (2-for-4) also doubled, and Antonio Scalise tripled while going 2-for-4.

 

Taconic (4-1) hosts Northampton on Friday.
