Blake Homers in Taconic's Tourney-Opening Win

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Evan Blake went 2-for-3 with a solo home run on Monday as the Taconic baseball team beat South Hadley, 8-1, in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class B tournament.

 

Jake Wall was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Eddie Ferris drove in a couple of runs and stole a couple of bases for the Thunder.

 

Matt Lee earned the win on the mound, striking out 12 in six innings.

 

Blake struck out two in one inning of scoreless relief.

 

Top-seeded Taconic (16-2) on Thursday will host No. 5 Wahconah, a 4-3 winner at Belchertown on Monday.
