Sheridan Leads Mount Greylock Baseball to Extra-Innings Win at Mount Everett
SHEFFIELD, Mass. -- Evan Sheridan hit an RBI single to left in the top of the eighth inning to help send the Mount Greylock baseball team to a 3-1 win over Mount Everett on Thursday.
The winning rally started when Philip Guest led off with an infield single. Derek Paris laid down a sacrifice bunt to get the go-ahead run into scoring position.
Sheridan then drove Guest home to break a 1-1 tie and took second base on the throw home. After Sheridan scored third, Tyler Canata hit a sacrifice fly to center to give the Mounties a 3-1 lead.
Jack Cangelosi earned the win on the mound, going the distance with seven strikeouts, one walk, and eight hits allowed over eight innings.
Andrew Consolini gave the Eagles seven innings, scattering 10 hits and allowing two earned runs.
Patrick Silk tripled and scored a run, and Jack Carpenter went 3-for-4 at the plate for Mount Everett.
Sheridan went 3-for-4 and stole three bases for Mount Greylock.
The Mounties (3-1) host Taconic on Saturday.
Mount Everett (3-3) hosts Drury on Saturday.
