Matte, McCann Tech Baseball Top Mount Everett

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Robert Matte III struck out eight and allowed one earned run over 6-2/3 innings Thursday to lead the McCann Tech baseball team to a 7-2 win over Mount Everett as the Hornets avenged one of their two losses this season.

 

Logan Tower went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs to lead a six-hit McCann offense. The Hornets made the most of four Mount Everett errors to hang four unearned runs on Eagles starter Nick Vandebogart.

 

McCann Tech got a pair of RBIs from Caleb Rondeau and 1/3-inning of perfect relief from Jacob Field.

 

McCann Tech (4-2) goes to Pioneer Valley on Friday.

 

Mount Everett (5-3) is home against St. Joseph on Tuesday.
