LENOX, Mass. – Mason Daley struck out seven and allowed just one hit in a complete-game effort Friday as the Lenox baseball team beat Mount Greylock, 5-1.
After the Mounties struck first for a run on a Jake Newberry RBI single in the top of the first, Lenox tied it in the bottom of the frame and never looked back.
David Kirchner drew a bases-loaded walk to drive in Jack Hicks, who reached on a one-out single to start the first-inning rally for Lenox.
In the second, Zack Nicotra singled and eventually scored on an error to give Lenox the lead for good.
Hicks finished with two RBIs, and the Millionaires stole nine bases in the win.
Lenox (2-0) goes to Mount Everett on Tuesday.
Mount Greylock (1-1) is at Southwick on Tuesday.
