Mount Greylock Boys, Lenox Girls Dominate at Lenox

LENOX, Mass. -- With senior Evan Arthur leading the way, the Mount Greylock boys cross country team took the top seven places in Wednesday’s meet at Lenox Memorial.
 
Arthur finished in 17 minutes, 33 seconds, setting a mile pace of 5:39.
 
Jacob Fink placed second in 17:49, and he was followed by Mounties teammates Sam Culver, Cameron Castonguay, Josh Cheung, Jesse Seid and Jakin Miller.
 
On the girls side, Lenox was just a little less dominant, taking the top four spots and five of the top seven as Emma Jourdain picked up another win, taking first on Senior Day with a time of 19:50, nearly a minute ahead of teammate Marion Huth.
 
Alice Najimy and Ellen Huth were third and fourth, respectively, before Wahconah’s Danielle Orlando (21:29) and Katerina Bruce came home in fifth and sixth places.
 
After Lenox’s Alice Huth in seventh, the next five spots belonged to Mount Greylock, starting wit eighth-grader Alice Glab (21:51) in eighth and continuing with Josie Smith, Hannah Locklear, Katherine Swann and Helen Greenfield.
 
Drury’s Brooke DiGennaro led the Blue Devils with a 28th-place showing, finishing in 23:50. Mount Everett’s Carly Duval (25:13) placed 36th to lead the Eagles.
 
On the boys’ side, the first non-Mountie across the finish line was eighth-grader Ted Yee of host Lenox, finishing eighth in 19:14. Mount Everett’s Grayson Duval (19:20) was ninth, followed by Wahconah’s Chris Campos (19:22) in 10th.
 
Drury’s Ethan Mekdeci placed 37th in 22:31. Connor Meehan did not compete for the Blue Devils.
