But the Monument Mountain girls again used their strength in numbers to pick up a second win of the week and move into a first-place tie with the Millionaires in the season standings with two events left to go.
Lenox’s Madison DiGrgoli was the first girl down the mountain, clocking a time of 44.18 seconds, more than six seconds ahead of the field.
Her teammate, MacKenzie Valenzuela, placed second in 50.67.
But Grace Soule was third to lead five Spartans in the top 10 as Monument Mountain earned a team win by 12 seconds over runner-up Lenox.
Taconic’s girls were third with Maddie Harrington (seventh place) leading the way. Aryanna Bouchard was eighth to lead Wahconah to fourth place. Pittsfield placed fifth; the Generals’ Eliza Mullen overcame a miscue on the lower third of the course to place fourth as an individual.
The independent team from Miss Hall’s School entered nine races on Wednesday night. Emersyn Bray was first across the line in 66.85, a time that would have placed 13th in the public school race.
In the boys team race, Lenox won by nearly 18 seconds over runner-up Monument Mountain to pick up its fourth win in four races this winter.
The Millionaires were led by the trio of Oliver Kirby, Michael Piretti and Owen Tanner, who placed first, second and third, respectively.
They were followed by Monument Mountain’s Declan Logan and Bronly Boyd in fourth and fifth.
The boys race followed form from the first three events with Pittsfield, Wahconah and Taconic placing third through fifth behind the Millionaires and Spartans.
The Generals were led by Reese Cook-Dubin in sixth and Ruben Fried in seventh.
Nolan Raymer led Wahconah with a 14th-place finish. Jesse Thompson was 18th to lead Taconic.
