Lenox Girls, Boys Win Downhill Season Openers

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Madison DiGrigoli won the season-opening giant slalom and led the Lenox Memorial Alpine race team to victory at Bousquet on Monday evening.

 

DiGrigoli finished 1.1 seconds ahead of runner-up Grace Soule, who led Monument Mountain to a second-place finish.

 

The Berkshire County League Monday welcomed a new associate member, Miss Hall’s School, which raced as an independent. Genevieve Buker led the boarding school with a time of 44.86 that was 14th in the girls field.

 

Lenox’s boys also won the opening team title of the season behind Oliver Kirby and Owen Tanner, who placed second and third, respectively.

 

Kitson Stover of Monument Mountain was .68 seconds faster than the field to place first as an individual and help the Spartans place second in the team standings.

 

The league returns to Bosquet for another GS on Jan. 13.
