WESTFIELD, Mass. – Lenox Memorial seventh-grader Mia Freeman Tuesday tied for 27th place at the North/Central/West girls golf sectional tournament at East Mountain Country Club.

Freeman overcame a rough start that saw her sitting at 9-over after four holes and came back to finish at 15-over to place in the top half of a 72-player field.

Freeman birdied the 130-yard par-3 third hole at East Mountain, her ninth hole of the tournament, to highlight her round.

Westwood’s Lillian Guleserian won the event with a 6-under round of 64 that included eight birdies.

She edged North Reading’s Isabel Brozena, the only other golfer to finish under par at 65.
