Drury, Pittsfield Pick Up Wins in High School Bowling
GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- The Pittsfield and Drury bowling teams set up a first-place showdown in the Berkshire County League after Friday's action at Cove Lanes.
The first-place Generals and second-place Blue Devils each won their matches on Friday and are scheduled to meet one another on Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m. at Mount Greylock Bowl in North Adams.
Both Pittsfield and Drury are 3-0 this season, but the Generals have one more points in their three matches, beating opponents by an average score of 28-3 as opposed to Drury's average margin of 26-5.
On Friday, Pittsfield's Tom Kosla rolled scores of 176-190 to lead the Generals to a 27-4 win over Wahconah.
Drury, meanwhile, defeated third-place Lee, 23-8, behind Zach Zeaton's 502 (256-246), the second highest series in the league on the day.
Lee's J.T. Sorrentino had the day's top series, a 513 that included a 300 game.
The top girl in the league on Friday was Drury's Kayla Field, who rolled scores of 227 and 159.
Friday's closest match was between St. Joseph and the Lee Black squad. The Crusaders defeated Lee's second unit, 17-14. Jordan Kinnas led St. Joe with a 370 series; Jarrett Dohn rolled a 281 series for Lee Black.
