Rumlow Leads Pittsfield Girls Past Taconic Hills

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Hailey Rumlow Wednesday won a pair of events to lead the Pittsfield girls swimming team to a 55-39 win over Taconic Hills at the Boys and Girls Club.

 

Rumlow won the 200-yard freestyle and 500 free, and the Generals took first in two of the three relay events.

 

After the Titans won the opening medley relay to jump out to a 7-3 lead, Rumlow’s win in the 200 free helped Pittsfield pull within two points.

 

In the next event, Taryn Griffin and Jada Siv went first and second, respectively, in the 200 individual medley to give the Generals a 15-11 lead they never relinquished.

 

Pittsfield’s boys cruised to a 42-8 win in the boys meet against a Taconic Hills team with just one entrant, Neil Howard, who won both races he entered, the 200 IM and 100 backstroke.

 

In the back, Pittsfield’s Joseph Kearns clocked a time of 1 minute, 4.82 seconds that qualified him for the Western Massachusetts championships.

 

Pittsfield goes to the Berkshire Family YMCA on Monday to face Wahconah.
