PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Pittsfield senior Kieran Coscia Monday won the Western Massachusetts Division 2 discus title as Saturday's regional meet concluded with a discus-only competition at Taconic High School.

Coscia was unable to complete his throws on Saturday at Mohawk Trail High School after his first attempt went into the woods beyond the discus area.

His winning throw on Monday was measured at 149 feet, 3 inches.

Meet officials agreed to give him an opportunity to throw two days later under the eye of meet director Bill Kane and officials Gary Curry and Josh Weeks.

Coscia won the D2 shotput title on Saturday with a throw of 53-7.

His second individual title of the competition did not impact the team scores at the event. Although he added 10 points to Pittsfield's team total, team champion Mount Greylock held onto the second- and third-place positions along with the 14 team points they bring to secure the team crown.

Eamonn Hetherington (144-5) and Ryan Goss (126-0) were second and third for the Mounties.
