Pittsfield Girls, Boys Top Taconic

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Meredith McCandless was a triple winner Wednesday to lead the Pittsfield girls track and field team to a dual meet win over Taconic.

 

McCandless won on the track, taking the 800 meters in 2 minutes, 43.85 seconds, and in the field, winning the triple jump (27 feet, 6 inches) and the javelin (98-2).

 

Pittsfield’s girls took a 98-34 win in the team competition.

 

The Generals also won the boys meet, by a margin of 91-4.

 

Emmanuel Nda, Sincere Moorer and Connor Hayford each won two events for Pittsfield.

 

Nda took the 100 by nearly a second over the field in 11.15 and won the 200 in 23.12. Moorer took the high jump, clearing 5-8, and won the triple jump with a mark of 40-9. Hayford won the shot put (42-11) and the javelin (152-3).

 

On the girls’ side, Pittsfield’s Randi Duquette won the 100 in 13.76 and the 200 in 28.87.
