Bradford, Lewis Lead Pittsfield Girls Swimming to Victory

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The Pittsfield boys and girls swim teams earned dual meet wins over Taconic on Tuesday at the Boys and Girls Club.
 
In the girls meet, Jordan Bradford and Szofia Lewis each was a double winner and each posted a qualifying time in her victory.
 
Bradford won the 500-yard freestyle in 5 minutes, 54.19 seconds to beat the cut time of 5:54.42 for the Central/Western Massachusetts Division 2 meet. She also won the 100 backstroke in 1:11.48.
 
Lewis hit the state qualifying mark in winning the 200 individual medley, touching in 2:21.97 and beating the D2 mark of 2:23.00. Lewis also won the 100 breaststroke in 1:12.75.
 
Bradford and Lewis helped lift the Generals’ girls to a 67-27 win.
 
Taconic’s Caitlyn Hall won the 100 butterfly in 1:06.69, more than two seconds under the Western/Central Mass time of 1:09.00.
 
Pittsfield’s boys won, 69-19, behind multiple victories each from Connor Mooney and Isaac Boyd.
 
Boyd swam qualifying times in winning the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke. In the medley, Boyd touched in 2:13.18, well under the sectional time of 2:20.68. In the 100 breast, his time of 1:06.25 just beat the cut time of 1:06.98.
 
Mooney won the 200 free (2:16.06) and 100 back (1:07.78).
 
Taconic got a win from Ben Bradway in the 100 fly as he hit the wall in 1:07.50.
