Bossio, Adopo Help Lead Pittsfield Boys Past Drury; PHS Girls Also Win

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Evan Bossio and Amancho Adopo were double winners on Tuesday to lead the Pittsfield High School boys track and field team to a 119-22 win over Drury.
Bossio won the 200 meters in a time of 23.5 seconds and took first in the javelin with a mark of 148 feet, 8 inches.
Adopo won the long jump in 18-9 and the high jump in 5-4. Teammate Matt Capeless completed a sweep of the jumps for Pittsfield with a mark of 37-9 in the triple jump.
In the girls competition, Amanda Wright won the long jump (14-3.5) and the 400 (1:05.2), ran a leg on Pittsfield's victorious 4-by-100 relay and finished second in the triple jump to help PHS to a 104-37 victory over the Blue Devils.
Taylor Patti led a Pittsfield sweep in the in the triple jump with a mark of 31-3.5. Rebecca Williams led a PHS sweep in the high jump, clearing 4-6.
In the boys meet, Bossio and Capeless also ran legs on victorious relays for the Generals, who took all three relay events.
For Drury, Connor Meehan won the mile (4:50.8) and the 800 meters (2:12.1).
