Kline Medals Twice at State Swim Meet

BOSTON, Mass. -- Monument Mountain's Keaghan Kline placed fifth in the 100-yard butterfly and sixth in the 50 freestyle at the Division 2 State Championships on Saturday at Boston University.
 
In the 100 fly, Kline touched in 1 minute, 1.03 seconds, trailing Longmeadow's Lilah Doherty, who won the state title in 55.98.
 
Kline clocked a time of 25.13 in the 50 free, .08 seconds off her seed time but .6 seconds behind winner Isabella Zeppa of Monson.
 
The Spartan quartet of Kline, Annabel Holmes, Helen Thorp and Adalyn Shufelt teamed up to place ninth in the 200 freestyle relay and 10th in the 400 free relay.
 
Thorp competed as an individual in the 100 backstroke, where she swam an 18th-place time of 1:07.40.
 
Monument Mountain's girls finished 13th in a 39-team field at the state meet with 59 team points. Weston High won the event with 230 points.
