Spartans Finish Regular Season with a Win

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – Mason Bailey rolled a 240 game and a 389 series Friday to lead the Monument Mountain bowling team to a 2-1 win over Pittsfield in Berkshire County League action at Cove Lanes.
 
Bailey had the second highest game and third highest series of the week in the league.
 
His teammate, Noah Walker, rolled a 221 game as the Spartans finished the regular season all alone in third place in the league with a record of 18-12. Monument Mountain was 3-6 and in fifth place in the six-team league after the first three weeks of play.
 
In a losing effort, Pittsfield’s Matt Dupuis rolled the best two-game series of the season in the league, a 499. Dupuis also had the day’s best game, a 257.
 
The Taconic Thunder remained atop the league standings heading into this Friday’s positional round at Cove.
 
On Friday, Taconic’s Abby Bliss rolled the best game of the day among the league’s girls with a 166 and the best two-game series for the girls with a 326 as Taconic swept Drury, 3-0.
 
The Blue Devils were led by Zachary Mongeon’s 421 series.
 
In the day’s other varsity match, Lee earned a 2-1 win over McCann Tech behind a 314 series from Devyn Fillio (157-157) and a 291 series from Maddie Kotek (164-127).
 
The Hornets got a 221 game from Ryan Puntin.
 
Varsity league standings: 1. Taconic, 25-5; 2. Lee, 21-9; 3. Monument Mountain, 18-12; 4. McCann Tech, 15-15; 5. Drury, 9-21; 6. Pittsfield, 2-28.
