Team Depth Carries Spartan Girls, Lenox Boys Earn Narrow Win

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Sophia Curletti placed fifth overall to lead the Monument Mountain girls ski team to its first team win of the season in a slalom race at Bousquet Mountain.

 

Annette Boyko, Kathryn Barquinero and Lucy Dohoney gave Monument Mountain four top 10 finishes to take the win despite the Spartans’ senior captain taking a fall.

 

Pittsfield’s Eliza Mullen took the top podium finish with a time of 44.40 seconds, three-tenths ahead of Madison DiGrigoli, who placed second to lead Lenox to second place in the team standings.

 

The team result on the boys side was decided by just one one-hundredth of a second.

 

Lenox’s boys picked up another win behind Oliver Kirby, Michael Piretti and Owen Tanner, who placed second, fourth and fifth, respectively.

 

Kitson Stover was the fastest boy down the mountain, clocking a time of 41.95 seconds to lead the Spartans to a second-place finish.

 

The league is back in action at Bousquet on Wednesday evening.
