Monument Girls, Wahconah Boys Win at Bousquet

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Wahconah’s Tanner Hill won Wednesday’s giant slalom and led his team to victory in the Berkshire County League’s third meet of the season at Bousquet.

 

Hill crossed the finish line in 45.05 seconds to edge runner-up Michael Mansfield of Pittsfield (46.07).

 

Wahconah’s four top finishers combined for a time of 203.30 seconds, about seven seconds ahead of the Generals.

 

In the girls’ race, Drury student Abby Kate Caproni, racing for the Lenox cooperative team, finished first in 50.64. But Monument Mountain’s depth prevailed in the team race as the Spartans edged the Millionaires by 5.5 seconds.

 

Caproni was followed across the finish line by Lenox teammate Molly Knight (52.00).

 

Monument’s Adelaide McFarland was third in 52.31. The Spartans also scored times from fifth-place Sophia Smith, sixth-place Emily Martsen and ninth-place Sydney Ruggiero.

 

Wahconah’s boys used times from fifth-place Drew Dunham, ninth-place Kyle Brogan and 18th-place Tommy Dunham (57.99).
