St. Joe Girls, Boys Beat New Lebanon

NEW LEBANON, N.Y. -- Ellie Field won two individual events and swam on two winning relays to help the St. Joseph girls swimming team to a 72-22 win over New Lebanon on Thursday.
Field won the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle races in times of 26.38 seconds and 58.26. She also swam a leg on the Crusaders' winning 200 medley relay and 200 free relay.
Other double winners as individuals for St. Joseph on Thursday included Julia Whitney in the 200 indivudal medley (2:37.26) and 500 free (6:23.60) and Emma Whitney in the 100 butterfly (1:07.99) and 100 backstroke (1:06.08).
St. Joe swept all three relays in the girls meet: the 200 MR (Emma Whitney, Elizabeth Bernardy, Field and Julia Whitney), 200 FR (Theresa Kirsimagi, Elizabeth Bartlett, Bernardy and Field) and 400 FR (Kirsimagi, Bartlett and both Whitneys).
The St. Joe boys swam to a 42-20 win over New Lebanon.
The Crusaders got wins from Bailey DiSanti in the 200 IM (2:54.61), Artem Dudka in the 100 back (1:23.20) and Thomas Braxton in the 100 breast (1:27.17). Braxton, Mike DiSanti, Kyle Meretis and Matt Tobin teamed up to win the lone relay on the boys side, the 200 free, in 2:04.63.
