Seid, Wells Lead Mount Greylock Harriers at Queensbury, N.Y. Meet

QUEENSBURY, N.Y. -- The Mount Greylock boys and girls cross country teams Saturday competed at the Queensbury Invitational with freshman Jackie Wells and junior Jesse Seid each placing 10th in her and his respective varsity races.
 
Wells clocked a time of 20 minutes, 10 seconds on the 5-kilometer course in a race won by Ballston Spa’s Faith DeMars in 18:45.
 
On the boys side, Seid finished in 16:40. The boys title went to Bethlehem’s Jack Huber with a time of 15:57.
 
Mount Greylock’s boys placed ninth out of 17 schools with 220 points. Huber’s Bethlehem won the event with four runners in the top 10 and 40 points.
 
Bethlehem’s girls also won their team title with 50 points. Mount Greylock’s girls placed fifth with 173 points.
 
The event featured 10 races: two varsities, a junior varsity and a freshman race and a middle school race for the boys and the girls.
 
For the second year in a row, Mount Greylock’s boys won the middle school crown. This time, the Mounties earned 32 points to edge Saratoga Springs by two points.
 
Eamon Hetherington won the 1.8-mile middle school race with a time of 10:15. Mount Greylock’s Chase Doyle was 10th in 11:09.
