Mount Greylock's Pelletier in All-State Wrestling Semis

READING, Mass. -- Mount Greylock senior Devin Pelletier is in Saturday's semi-finals at the Massachusetts All-State Wrestling Championships.
 
Wrestling at 170 pounds, Pelletier earned two wins on Friday to reach the final four.
 
In the first round, he pinned Marshfield's Mike Rodrigues in 4 minutes, 55 seconds. And in the quarter-finals, Pelletier defeated Mansfield's Vinnie Holmes, 9-2.
 
Pelletier, who earlier this year set the state record for wins, faces Catholic Memorial's Josh Bechen in the semis.
 
Pelletier and teammate Jude Rorke have the Mounties in 42nd place in the 98-team field at the all-state meet.
 
Rorke won one match Friday at 152 pounds before being eliminated in the consolation bracket.
 
He was edged, 7-6, in the first round to fall into the consys, where he defeated Holliston's Eli Goldfarb, 8-2. In Rorke's second outing in the consolation bracket, Andrew Eaton of Higham prevailed, 6-2.
 
Six Berkshire County wrestlers from three teams competed at the championships.
 
Taconic's Isiah Williams and Zabion Powell competed at 152 and 132, respectively.
 
Williams won twice in the consys and posted a 2-2 record in the competition.
 
He was knocked out of the main draw in a 7-3 loss to Westford Academy's Andrew Piedrahita.
 
Then Williams beat Triton's Anthony Ostrander with a 20-4 technical fall and pinned Foxboro's Max Dorman at 4:39. Williams' tournament run ended in a 13-9 loss to North Attleboro's Nick Gould.
 
Powell lost to West Springfield's Josh Bergeron, 13-0, in the first round and to Marlboro's Noah Wilcox, 4-3, in the consolations.
 
Monument Montain was represented by Nate Cormier at 145 and John Field at 182.
 
Cormier was edged, 7-5, by Needham's David Kurker in the championship bracket. Cormier beat Alec Snell of Silver Lake, 11-10, before falling to Springfield Central's Darby McLauhglin, 10-2, in the second round of the consys.
 
Field fell to Franklin's Evan Hernandez, 12-2, in the first round and Pentucket's Kalon Boston, 5-4, in the consolations.
