Mount Greylock Edges McCann, But Hornets Stay in Third
PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The Mount Greylock bowling team Friday edged McCann Tech in a battle of the second- and third-place teams in Berkshire County, but the Hornets were able to hold on to a slim two-point lead in the standings.
Mark Hayden rolled a 426 series with a 245 game to lead the Mounties to a 16-15 win at Cove Lanes. But McCann Tech, which came into the day with a three-point lead for second place, escaped with a two-point margin in the standings.
Brandon Vallone rolled 417 series for McCann to help keep things close.
First-place Drury cruised to a 31-0 win over the Lee Black team behind a 268 game and 499 series from Zach Yeaton.
Friday’s action featured a pair of tight matches. In addition to the McCann-Mount Greylock clash, Fourth-place Monument Mountain scored a 17-14 win over Taconic to stay three points ahead of Pittsfield, a 23-8 winner over Lee
Monument was led by Tyler Wade with a 395 series. Pittsfield got a 460 series from Chris Kordana.
In Friday’s other match, Wahconah’s Alex White rolled a 488 series to lead his team to a 31-0 win over Mount Everett.
Yeaton had the high game and high series for the day. The best performance on the girls side was turned in by Taconic’s Lynsey Aldam with a 214 game and 420 series -- both tops among the girls.
On Friday at Cove Lanes in Great Barrington, Drury faces Wahconah, McCann had the Lee Black and Mount Greylock takes on Pittsfield.
