Albano Records 1,500th Assist in Mounties' Road Win

ATHOL, Mass. -- Milestone Week for the Mount Greylock Regional School volleyball team continued on Friday as Dagny Albano recorded her 1,500th career assist in a three-set win over Athol.

 

Four days after middle hitter Jenna Benzinger notched career kill No. 500, Albano joined her senior teammate in celebrating a personal accomplishment, even as the team continued its most successful season in years.

 

Albano had 31 assists Friday as the Mounties improved to 16-2 by beating Athol, 25-23, 25-12, 25-18.

 

Benzinger had 18 kills to power the offense.

 

Serena Chow and Autumn Delorey recorded nine and seven kills, respectively.

 

The Mounties learn Tuesday when and against whom they will begin play in the Western Massachusetts tournament.
