Kirby Leads Mount Greylock to Boys Track Win

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Tommy Kirby won the 800 meters and the 2-mile run on Friday to lead the Mount Greylock boys track and field team to a pair of dual meet wins over Monument Mountain and Wahconah.

 

Kirby won the 800 in 2 minutes, 6.40 seconds and the 2-mile in 10:32.80.

 

The Mounties edged Wahconah, 74-67, and beat Monument, 79-62.

 

Owen Brandriss won the discus with a throw of 92 feet, 9 inches and finished third in the mile (5:02.50) and fourth in the 800 (2:18.30) for Mount Greylock.

 

Wahconah’s Devon Mikaniewicz and Matthew Lighten were double winners to help their team defeat Monument, 89-51.

 

Mikaniewicz won the long jump (18-7) and the triple jump (38-4-¾). Lighten won the 100 (11.10) and the 200 (23.00).
