READING, Mass. — Mount Greylock junior Devin Pelletier Friday reached the semi-finals of the 160-pound weight class at MIAA All-State Wrestling Championships.

Pelletier, who had a bye in the first round of the competition, advanced through the round of 16 with a 5-3 win over Nashoba’s James Kilgo.

He then beat Division 1 state champion Joe Vecchione of Chelmsford, 7-4, in the quarterfinals.

That sets up a Saturday bout against second-seeded Austin Cooley of Somerset for a berth in the all-state final.

Pelletier’s teammate, Alex Griffis had to medically default in the first minute of his round of 16 match against Chelmsford’s Phill Kimera at 195 pounds.

Griffis dropped into the tournament’s consolation bracket, along with the rest of the Berkshire County contingent at the all-state meet.

Taconic’s Zabion Powel (132), Isiah Williams (152) and Dalton Peck (285) each lost in his first match in the championship bracket, as did Monument Mountain’s Nate Cormier (145) and Bart Christiano (195).
