WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Between the Western Mass tournament, the state tournament and the all-state tournament, Brandon Weyant and Devin Pelletier could be seeing a lot of each other over the next few weeks.

They may get their first look on Saturday at Mount Greylock Regional School.

Hampshire Regional senior Weyant and Mount Greylock junior Pelletier are on a colision course in the 160-pound weight class when the 24th annual Mountie Invitational gets under way Saturday morning.

"I'm really looking forward to [the tournament] because Pelletier and the kid from Hampshire are going to meet," Mount Greylock coach Ray Miro said after the Mounties' dual meet at Monument Mountain on Wednesday. "They're both unbeaten, and the kid from Hampshire is ranked first in the state. Devin's ranked fourth in the state.

"We'll see how it shakes out. I think it's going to be a good match -- something to look forward to."

There are only nine Division 3 West wrestlers listed in the latest masswrestling.com rankings, which pull together the top grapplers from throughout the commonwealth in all divisions.

Seven of those nine are scheduled to compete in the Mountie Dome on Saturday.

Weyant's not even the only top-ranked wrestler scheduled to appear. Granby's Nolan Hodgins comes into the weekend ranked first in Massachusetts at 220 pounds.

Three of the nine Western Mass D3 wrestlers in the state rankings wear the green and gold of Taconic: Mason Papirio (138), Nick Bailey (145) and Isiah Williams (152). Bailey has been battling an injury.

The seventh ranked wrestler scheduled to comepete on Saturday is South Hadley junior Isaiah Cardenales, who is No. 2 in the state at 106.

Taconic and Mount Everett are both making the trip to Williamstown, as are last year's champion and runner-up, Chariho and North Providence of Rhode Island.

Mount Greylock and Taconic finished third and fourth, respectively. Bailey (126), Pelletier (152) and Weyant come into Saturday as defending champions at the event.
