WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Mount Greylock girls cross country team Wednesday put 11 runners in the top 12 in a dominant performance on its home course in a five-team meet.

Josephine Bay led the way, covering the course in a time of 21 minutes, 7 seconds.

The only non-Mountie to crack the top 12 was Pittsfield’s Yasmine Oubtrou, who finished second in 21:19.

The Mounties cruised to three dual meet wins.

Oubtrou led the Generals to a 23-34 win over Wahconah.

Monument Mountain’s girls went 2-1 in duals with wins over PHS and Wahconah behind Anna Desilets and Elise Pacheco, who placed 13th and 14th, respectively.

Wahconah’s girls were led by Megan Tucker, who placed 23.

Hoosac Valley also competed in the race, but neither its girls or boys teams had enough runners to qualify for a team score. Reagan Shea led the Hurricanes in the girls race, finishing 30th.

The top boy on Wednesday was Monument Mountain’s Everett Pacheco, who hit the finish line in 17:19 – 15 seconds ahead of Mount Greylock’s Rafa Mellow-Bartels.

Mellow-Bartels and the Mounties matched their girls team with a 3-0 day in duals. In addition to Mellow-Bartels, six other Mount Greylock boys finished in the top 12.

Pacheco’s performance helped Monument Mountain tie Pittsfield in their dual meet.

The Generals were led by Cohen Zahn, who joined a tight pack at the front of the field, finishing in third place, 10 seconds behind Pacheco.

Wahconah’s boys went 2-1, beating Pittsfield and Monument Mountain, behind a fourth-place finish from Noah Wesley.

Wahconah will host the next competition for all the teams in the Berkshire County League, the county championship, which is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 19.
