Mount Greylock Boys Dominate Season Opener

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – Oliver Swabey and Quinn McDermott placed first and second, respectively, Friday, to lead the Mount Greylock boys Nordic ski team to a first place finish in the inaugural Berkshire County League meet of the season at Ski Butternut.

 

Declan Rogers and Knowl Stroud placed fourth and fifth, respectively, to round out the scoring for the Mounties.

 

Wahconah’s Fritz Sanders broke up the four Mount Greylock scorers, placing third as an individual to lead Wahconah to a second-place team finish.

 

Mount Greylock also took the top two girls spots on the podium, with Lauren Miller and Anne Miller finishing first and second, respectively.

 

Mia Holmgren in fourth and Antonia Wied in 20th rounded out the scoring for the Mounties, who finished tied with Amherst for first place in the team standings.

 

Lenox’s girls were third behind a third-place finish from Jane Elliot.
