County Nordic League Competes at Mount Greylock
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Mount Greylock boys cross country ski team Wednesday placed eight racers in the top 10 to dominate its first home race of the year.
The Mounties’ girls also earned a first-place finish after joining the boys in sweeping the top-three podium spots.
In the boys race, Oliver Swabey led the way with a time of 13 minutes, 40 seconds. His teammate Quinn McDermott was second, and Foster Savitsky was third.
Wahconah’s Friz Sanders placed fourth to lead his squad to a second-place finish.
Anne Miller led Mount Greylock’s girls to victory with a time of 14:41, 15 seconds ahead of teammate Lauren Miller. Cornelia Swabey rounded out the top-three sweep for the Mounties.
Wahconah’s Vienna Mahar finished fourth to lead her squad to a second-place finish in the team standings. She was followed by Medeja Rudzinskate and Alice Culver of Lenox.
