Abel Leads Mount Greylock Girls at Mount Everett

SHEFFIELD, Mass. – Ainsley Abel led five Mount Greylock Mounties in the top five of Wednesday’s five-team meet at Mount Everett.

Abel crossed the finish line in 21 minutes, 8.70 seconds to win the girls race, and Mount Greylock’s boys dominated their race with four runners in the top five.

Abel was chased by teammates Adriana Carasone, Vera De Jong, Chase Hoey and Annie ARt.

Taconic’s Lily Powell was the first non-Mount Greylock runner, finishing sixth. Monument Mountain’s Rae Geddes placed seventh.

Andrew Petropulos won the boys race in 17:18.13, just more than a second ahead of Mount Greylock teammate Ryan Keating (17:19.15). The Mounties’ Ezra Holzapfel and Rafa Mellow-Bartels placed third and fifth, respectively.

Breaking up the Mount Greylock quartet was Wahconah’s Riley Gladu in fourth.

Monument Mountain’s boys were led by Lucas Faggione in 13th. Taconic’s Noah Krantz placed 18th.
