Mount Greylock Boys, Girls Earn Pair of Dual Meet Wins

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Mount Greylock boys 4-by-400 relay team edged Pittfield by seven seconds in the final event of the night Saturday to clinch a nine-point win over the Generals on the Lee Track.

Vincent Welch, Knowl Stroud, Jack Catelotti and Quinn McDermott finished in 3 minutes, 45.86 seconds. Pittsfield hit the finish line in 3:52.97.

That was enough for the Mounties to earn a 75-66 win and a pair of dual meet victories in the four-team meet.

Mount Greylock’s boys also beat Taconic, while the Generals topped the Thunder in a meet that also included Wahconah.

On the girls side, Mount Greylock cruised to a pair of dual wins. Pittsfield’s girls topped Taconic.

Kate Swann won the 800 meters and the 1600, and Mount Greylock’s girls swept the throws with Emma Gilooly winning the shot put, Lily Catelotti winning the discus and Nora Lopez taking the javelin.

Pittsfield’s Randi Duquette swept the 100 and the 200.

In the boys meet, Pittsfield’s Kieran Coscia was a triple winner in the throws, and teammate Johnathan Ofori won the long jump and the triple jump.

Mount Greylock’s Andrew Petropolus won the mile and the two-mile on the track, and the Mounties swept the relays.
