Mount Greylock Boys, Girls Tennis Top PHS

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Drew Scanlon and Luka Hirsch earned a straight-set win at first doubles Wednesday to give the Mount Greylock boys tennis team a 3-2 win over Pittsfield.
 
The Mounties’ girls, meanwhile, posted a 5-0 win over the Generals.
 
In the boys match at Herberg Middle School, Pittsfield won the only contested singles matches. No. 1 Hunter Golin won in three sets, and No. 2 Noah Krantz posted a 6-4, 6-4 win.
 
Pittsfield forfeited the third singles point and the second doubles point.
 
That allowed the match to hinge on first doubles, where Scanlon and Hirsch won, 6-1, 6-0, to secure the victory.
 
In the girls match, Mount Greylock did not give up a game in the 5-0 victory.
 
The Mounties host Monument Mountain on Friday. Pittsfield is at Lee on Friday.
