Nda Places Fourth in 100 at All-State Meet

NORWELL, Mass. -- Pittsfield High senior Emmanual Nda placed fourth in the 100-meter dash at Saturday’s All-State Championships at Norwell High school.
 
Nda crossed the line in 10.98 seconds. The All-State title went to Jonas Clarke of South Hadley, who finished in 10.67 seconds after going 10.66 in the prelims.
 
In the field on Saturday, Pittsfield’s Kieran Coscia threw 140 feet, 8 inches in the discus to place ninth in the state, just missing out on earning points for the Generals but bettering his seed position by five places.
 
Back on the track, Monument Mountain’s 4-by-400 relay quartet of Gavin Santos, Colin Kinne, Quinn Redpath and Lucien Firth placed 10th in the state with a time of 3:29.61. They came in with a seed time of 3:32.44 and were seeded 16th in the 22-team field.
 
In Saturday afternoon’s girls meet, Lenox’s Mary Elliot placed 11th in the 400 with a time of 57.97.
 
In the day’s final event, Elliot teamed with Solia Schmid, Elyssa Scrimo and Savannah Reber to run a time of 4:13.17 in the mile relay, giving Lenox an 18th-place finish.
 
Right behind them were the Mount Greylock Mounties. Sophia Mele, Lily McDermott, Chase Hoey and Maggie Nichols finished in 4:17.62 to place 19th.
 
Mount Greylock’s Elizabeth Dupras was 20th in the 100 hurdles (16.24), and freshman teammate Nichols placed 24th in the prelims in the 100 with a time of 13.13.
 
Hoosac Valley’s Lilly Boudreau placed 23rd in the state in the 400 hurdles, finishing in 1:13.26.
