Mount Greylock Girls Tennis Tops East Longmeadow

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The Mount Greylock girls tennis team swept singles play to earn a 3-2 win over East Longmeadow on Sunday.

 

No. 1 Tara Shastri had the toughest time of it, but she prevailed, 6-3, 6-3, over Elena Tilli.

 

At Nos. 2 and 3 singles, Melina and Mariza Sfakianaki dropped a combined three games in defeating Mahak Kanjolia and Samantha Henderson, respectively.

 

In doubles play, the East Longmeadow tandem of Alexandra Vona and Riley Foley defeated Mount Greylock's Tyra Nurmi and Rachel Swoap at No. 1, 6-2, 4-6 (7-3).

 

At No. 2 doubles, Madelyn Austin and Samantha Dinnie defeated the Mounties' Amy Larabee and Sam Hamilton, 7-5, 6-2.

 

The team tennis tournament seeds will be released by the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association on Wednesday.
