Mount Greylock's Miller Wins Eastern Championship
FORT KENT, Maine -- Mount Greylock Nordic skier Jakin Miller won a New England Nordic Ski Association Eastern High School Championship on Saturday.
Miller covered a 1.1-kilometer frestyle sprint course at the Fort Kent Outdoor Center in 2 minutes, 51.81 seconds, more than two seconds ahead of his nearest competitor.
New Hampshire's Oliver Fisher finished second in 2:54.17.
The next Massachusetts finisher was Mohawk Trail's Noel Anderson, who finished 14th in 3:00.74.
Miller's brother Corban, also a Mountie, was 42nd in 3:10.79.
Lenox's Herkus Rudzinskas finished 70th with a time of 3:18.28.
Hoosac Valley's Corben Craig crossed the finish line in 4:18.80.
Ninety-six racers from Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont competed in the event.
