WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Ben Gilooly carded a 39 Thursday to lead the Mount Greylock golf team to a 173-174 win over Hoosac Valley on the back nine of Waubeeka Golf Links.

Gilooly's day included a birdie on the 485-yard, par-5 17th hole as he tied Hoosac Valley's Henry Sniezek for medalist honors.

"It took all 12 of our players on the team to be able to beat a very deep Hoosac team today," Mount Greylock coach Mitchell Spooner said after his team earned a home-and-home split against the Hurricanes. "We have all been working hard with this date circled on our calendar after our loss to them to start the year.

"I am very proud of the entire team and very happy with our results."

Owen Petropulos (41), Xander Art (45) and Brayden Smith (48) rounded out the scoring for the Mounties.

Finishing just out of the scoring for Mount Greylock was Ben Prescott with a 51.

"Prescott birdies the 17th hole and shot a 51 as a left-handed golfer," Spooner said. "He showed up to tryouts last year as a right-handed golfer, made the biggest swing change I have ever seen and put in the work this summer to follow up."

Derek Alibozek finished at 41 for Hoosac Valley. Hayden Grimes and Luc Trombly rounded out the scoring for the Hurricanes with a pair of 47s.
