Wahconah Girls, Boys Sweep New Lebanon

NEW LEBANON, N.Y. -- Michaela Defoe won two events Wednesday to lead the Wahconah girls swimming team to a 48-46 win over New Lebanon.

 

Defoe won the 100-yard freestyle in 1 minute, 1.03 seconds and the 100 backstroke in 1:11.63.

 

Wahconah also picked up wins from Emma Doane in the 500 free (7:03.23) and its 200 free relay quartet.

 

For New Lebanon, Gigi French won the 200 free (2:33.92) and 100 breaststroke (1:21.66), and Lindsey Smith won the 50 free (:29.82) and 100 butterfly (1:16.97).

 

Wahconah won the boys meet, 44-7. Noah Schweitzer and Miles Cramer were double winners.

 

Schweitzer won the 200 free (2:11.96) and 100 breaststroke (1:18.95). Cramer won the 50 free (:25.20) and 100 back (1:11.16).
