Wahconah Fights Off Three Match Points, Wins in Five Sets

HAVERHILL, Mass. -- The Wahconah volleyball team Thursday rallied from 14-10 in the fifth set to earn a 16-14 win and a five-set victory over Whittier Tech in the preliminary round of the Division 4 State Tournament.

 

Jennah Bird served six straight points, capped by a Sasha Fyfe kill to end the 25-15, 16-25, 25-16, 16-25 victory.

 

Fyfe finished with four kills, 13 digs and a pair of aces.

 

McKenzie LaBier had seven kills and three blocks.

 

Olivia Wehner pulled up 16 digs and served six aces.

 

Wahconah travels to play No. 2 Lynnfield on Saturday in the round of 32.
